On the water

~ Chat-n-Chill- This is a must see while in Exuma.  The world famous bar is located on Stocking Island and is a short water taxi away from the government docks in Georgetown.  Relax on the beautiful beach while sipping cocktails and enjoying the water and sun.  You can play some sand volleyball, eat fresh conch salad, pet the sting rays or mingle with the sail boaters.  It is an amazing place.  info@chatnchill.com.   242-336-2700

~Lumina Point- Amazing new lunch and dinner spot tucked away in a cove behind Chat-n-Chill.  Food and views are absolutely amazing.  It is only accessible by boat but is well worth the trip.  (800) 686-5935

~St Francis-  Another incredible lunch spot across Moriah Harbor.  Enjoy an incredible lunch as you look out over Moriah Harbor and the beautiful sailboats moored there.  Walk to the top of the hill and over to the ocean side to enjoy some beautiful views of the ocean.  242-557-9629

On the land

All restaurants are fairly casual on the island. However based on food and dress some are a little less “casual” than others. You could wear a swim suit and t-shirt to every restaurant on the island but I would recommend a golf shirt and casual shorts for some.

Golf Shirt Restaurants

~ Rusty Anchor- Fantastic food with an amazing view of the Harbor.  Located at February Point.  242-336-2400.

~ 23 North-   Upscale restaurant with great food and drinks.  Located at Grand Isle resort. About 15 minutes north of house. Go past round about for airport and it will be 7-8 minutes further down on the right.   Beautiful setting to eat indoors or on the patio with great views. www.grandisleresort.com/dining/23-north  242-358-5000 X264.

~ Peace and Plenty Club and Restaurant- Located in Georgetown. Delicious restaurant with an Italian flair. The owners are form Italy. They have great outdoor bar with a beautiful view of Stocking Island. Also be sure to check out the indoor bar. One of my favorite spots on the island. Even if the indoor bar is not serving it is worth walking in and checking it out. On Thursday night they have a “rake and scrape band” with BBQ buffet. 242-336-2551.

~ The Palapa Grill Grand Isle- located in the Grand Isle Resort north of the airport and just past Sandals.  The food is incredible and there is an amazing view of the golf course and ocean.  One of our favorite stops for lunch or dinner.  242-358-5000 x 264

~ Exuma Beach Resort Great setting and food, outdoor bar above marina.  Just south of Exuma Market in Georgetown. 242-336-2578.

~ Augusta Bay Inn- Restaurant and bar on the water.  Great food.   242-336-2251.

T-shirt and swim suit Restaurants

~Island Boy Café- Our favorite place for lunch. Delicious food and quick service. This is a great place to sit in town and people watch from the deck. They have wonderful wraps, amazing wings, and great cheeseburgers. 242-336-4422

~Palm Bay- Great place to get pizza and some bar food to watch the game.  Exuma’s version of a sports bar.  242-336-2787

~ The Fish Fry- Great place to go for authentic, fresh Bahamian fare.  Conch salads/sandwiches, BBQ Ribs, Lobster, Grouper, Plantains, Peas & Rice - the list goes on and on. There are several huts to choose from, but Shirley's is a definite favorite of ours. Fish fry is located about 15 minutes from house on left side of Queens HWY just before you get to town. There are around 12 “food and drink shacks” painted different colors. Each “shack” is very unique in its own way. Be sure to check them all out.

~Big D’s- Casual restaurant with local food and fresh conch salad. Amazing views and casual atmosphere. It is located about 20 mins North of house on right side of Queens Hwy. May want to call ahead as their hours are “hit or miss”. 242-358-0059

Little Exuma- its about a half hour drive West.  Nice drive and good way to see the island

~Santana's- I feel this is another must do.  Dee is the owner and is usually serving.  Take a look at her photo album to see photos from the filming of “Pirates of the Caribbean”.  She serves a great lobster lunch with local sides.  Very reasonable.   Be sure to stop in Mom’s bakery right next door.  It doesn’t look like much but “Mom” is awesome and has some great breads.  Gotta get a slice of the Rum cake.  242-345-4102

~Tropic Breeze-  Fantastic new restaurant.  Krissy is the local chef and he was trained in the US.  Very reasonably priced with an amazing view.  The burger topper with lobster is incredible!!  242-345-4100

For your grocery needs

Food Markets… All of the grocery stores close at 6pm.  On Sundays Exuma Market is the only store open from 8am to 11am.  Liquor is sold at stores that are separate from the grocery stores.  There are liquor stores next door to Exuma Market and Smitty's.

Prime Island Meat and Deli- located at LaFamilia Plaza Hooper's Bay is a family owned and operated deli and butcher shop about a mile and a half down the road. It will be on your right heading toward Georgetown.  Fresh sausage, steaks, pork chops, chicken, seafood, deli meats and cheeses, coleslaw, macaroni salad, prepared sandwiches; you name it, they have it. They have rotisserie chickens daily, and homemade lasagna on Wednesdays. (Ronnie is the owner) Mondays 10-3 and Tuesday - Saturday 10-6. (242) 336-3627

Exuma Market- located in Georgetown, Exuma Market is the largest market on the island with the best selection.  It is adjacent to the little bridge in town.  They do add an additional fee if paying with credit card.  (242) 336-2033

Smitty’s- Small grocery store which is about 5 minutes southeast of the house towards Georgetown on the left side of the road.  It is just past Prime Island meats. What I cant find at Prime Island I will buy here.

C & K Liquors- Liquor store located right next to Smitty’s about five minutes from the house. Located on the left side of Queens Hwy. They have beer, wine and liquor.

There are ATM machines at all the banks located in Georgetown and near Sandals Resort.
